In December 2024 the Govt. Published the revised National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF). In effect this placed a requirement on TVBC to significantly increase its housing supply and there is currently a ‘presumption in favour of sustainable development’
As a result TVBC has published a revised Reg 18 version of the local plan known as the ‘Draft Local Plan 2042’- which allocates ‘Land West of Braishfield Road, Braishfield’ for 54 dwellings.
The latest version of the Local Plan map for Braishfield (showing the housing allocation) is shown below.
It is anticipated that an application in respect of the allocated site will be submitted shortly.
In addition to the local plan allocation there is a current application on land to the south of the Wheatsheaf PH for 9 houses
The community has been notified of other speculative applications in the village that are likely to come forward over the next 12 months.
